WHAT A WEEKEND!

AMAZING!  Holy shit!  Today has been slowly ticking by, my brain coming back to life after being blown by amazingly friendly strangers who are now friends, unbelievable music, fantastic banter, the tastiest chocolate I have ever consumed and a free bottle of wine.  I have had a fucking belter of a weekend.

On Saturday we headed up north to the Brum!  Myself, Mike Nisbet and Fit and the Conniptions packed ourselves into my wee clio and scooted up the M40 to the house of Marcus, our host for the evening.  Once arrived we were promptly presented with some 9% fine ale, cider, CHOCOLATE (OH MAN, I think I need a blog post soley about this stuff) and a vast array of cheeses and tasty cheese infused breads.  WE WERE SO HAPPY!  Sitting talking with someone you have never met but feel you already know (thanks internets) is a surreal and amazing experience.  So we talked and drank.  Then to the gig.  Faced with a LOVELY bunch of folk, all with smiles on their faces and also willing to partake in banter.  My fav kinda people.  Then someone whipped out the Millies cookies.  I had four.  WINNING AT LIFE!

Mike and Wayne played beautiful, intimate and funny sets with roaring applause from all of us!  We felt part of the gang so THANK YOU MARCUS!! Thanks to all your friends too (and mum!) you made us feel so welcome in your home, I loved our long chat together putting the world to rights yesterday morning too!

THANK YOU!!
We are like a big, weird looking but happy, family :)

So then onto last night, Sunday at The Boogaloo! Arriving in true Bans style, joggies, trainers, hair like a burst couch, classy.  I was dog tired and hungy after our long drive and late night but ready to rock the shit outta it!  I rocked that shit so hard I actually cried.  For real, salt came out my eye balls.  But I was soon cheered up with what was to follow!!!  I have been told about Dana Immanuel a bunch of times before and never had the chance to witness in real life - what a fucking brilliant writer and performer!  I was sooked into each song, I WAS THERE!  So watch this space as I will hopefully be stealing the lovely lady herself to play at the next house gig! YUS!

AHHHH lastly, we ended the night with a footstomping Yaldi set.  I've told you about Yaldi before, we are a weird bunch of musos, don't remeber how it happened but we became some sort of Jewish, Scottish, Blues fringed band :)  Cosmo House, who feature on my album, make up 2/3 us with Wayne (Fit and the Conniptions) taking bass duties.  Duncan Menzies, again you all know him by now, the hairy fiddler, and Kaya Labonte-Hurst on drums.  My keyboard broke which rounded off the whole night nicely.  ROCK AND FUCKING ROLL!!!!

UPCOMING GIGS!!! See you soon!! xxxxx
